Poetry & Pride reading hosted by Emma Ginader

Before this weekend's parades, celebrate LGBTQI+ Pride Month with Berl's Brooklyn Poetry Shop at our Poetry & Pride Reading this Thursday at 7 p.m. Featured poets include Aimee Herman, Matthew Dix, Antonio Addessi, and Nathan Cole. All are welcome to this free event! 

Aimee Herman (she/they/her/them) is a Brooklyn-based queer writer and educator with two full length books of poems, meant to wake up feeling (great weather for MEDIA) and to go without blinking (BlazeVOX books) in addition to being widely published in journals and anthologies including BOMB, cream city review, and Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics (Nightboat Books). Aimee is a founding member alongside David Lawton in the poetry band, Hydrogen Junkbox and has a new LGBTQ young adult novel recently published called Everything Grows, published by Three Rooms Press.

Antonio Addessi is currently studying poetry at Columbia University School of the Arts Creative Writing program. He runs and teaches for Columbia’s veteran creative writing workshop and the Manhattan veterans affairs center’s creative writing workshop. He has a BA from the University of Maine in English. He had a group of poems published by the Wrath-Bearing Tree this month.

Nathan Cole is a 24-year-old writer and artist from Columbus, OH. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in 2017, and he recently moved to Brooklyn this March. This June, he independently published his first collection of poetry: Run From Heaven. You can follow him on Instagram and Twitter at @natecolewriter.

Matthew Dix is a poet and translator from South Carolina. He is an MFA candidate at Columbia University’s Graduate Writing Program.
